Do you feel confident in your own skin? Do you feel strong and healthy? Do you eat well and train regularly attending classes and completing home workouts? If not, these could be all the reasons you DON’T feel confident in your own skin. Getting fit nowadays doesn’t mean spending hours at the gym, pounding the pavements until you can’t feel your feet anymore – getting fit can be done in as little as 10-20 minutes a day 5 times a week! When you move a little more, feel a little stronger, eat a little healthier it goes a long way towards feeling more confident in your own skin. I know personally if I have been away and haven’t had chance to do some exercise, or have had an indulgent weekend my body feels slow and sluggish, I feel bloated and just not as confident during the week.

I thought I would share with you some simple ways to fit some exercise into your life, without it impacting on home/work/family life too much, but a way that is becomes a lifestyle choice instead.

1. Instead of spending £70 per month on a gym membership – why not use that first month’s payment towards some new workout gear and a couple of pieces of equipment for home? You can buy plenty of workout gear that isn’t overly priced nowadays and small gym equipment from large superstores or online. Then log into YouTube and you’ve got an instructor in your home!

2. Plan to get up 20 minutes earlier in the morning and fit in that workout, if you plan for it, you are more likely to do it, and you can then enjoy the benefits of that workout all day long, as you will have released those feel-good hormones first thing. Not to mention the bonus of speeding up your metabolism too.

3. Plan your meals for the week, this is a such a simple idea but again if you plan you wont waste food, you will eat healthier and make better choices leading to clearer skin, healthier hair and nails not to mention the extra energy as well.

4. Lastly download some HIIT apps onto your tablets and phones, these are great to keep you motivated – and there is an array of them now from tabata (a firm favourite of mine – who wouldn’t want to train for just 4 minutes!) through to longer 12 minutes and more – depending on your free time during the day.

There are so many more ways to stay fit and healthy nowadays that really don’t cost the earth, or mean hours out of your day, a 10 minute HIIT each day along with healthier choices over your food will make a huge difference to your confidence in the long run. Remember though it takes time and commitment, your results will happen if you are consistent – so go and get that new workout gear and download your timer and you are set to go.
